The ability to identify stylistic devices is so crucial across Lang Lit. However, identification alone is not enough and candidates have to also display their knowledge of the effect that these stylistic devices create. To score well, one should be well versed in a wide variety of commonly used devices. Their effects are pretty standard but you will have to blend the context of your texts when explaining the effects of the named devices.
